For the historic August Wilson House, Clear Story served as a lighting and systems design consultant, developing interior and exterior illumination, controls, and theatrical infrastructure that honor the building’s cultural significance within the Hill District. The design carefully enhances both preserved and new spaces, aligning with the architecture while supporting interpretation and visitor experience. Outdoors, illuminated pathways and integrated performance infrastructure transform the backyard into a flexible venue, while a networked control system enables dynamic, room-by-room lighting—allowing the historic home itself to become an active, expressive element in theatrical storytelling.
