THE ASSEMBLY
Clear Story collaborated with ZGF Architects to design and install a permanent exhibit of historical building and automobile artifacts at The Assembly. The exhibit tells the story of the former Ford assembly plant, where Model T’s and Model A’s were assembled and distributed throughout Pittsburgh between 1915 and 1932. Through integrated lighting, interpretive displays, and carefully curated artifacts, the installation highlights the building’s industrial legacy while connecting its historic past to its new life as a contemporary workplace and gathering space. The design emphasizes the raw character of the original structure, celebrating its materials, scale, and manufacturing history while creating an engaging experience for tenants and visitors alike.
